Research and Development
To keep RCL at the forefront of ceramic technology and maintain its competitiveness
within the investment casting industry, RCL has invested in, and ring-fenced, the best
people and equipment to develop and exploit the company's long and extensive experience in
advanced ceramic technology.
RCL is continuously improving its manufacturing techniques and developing applications
for its technically advanced ceramic materials. RCL's research and development programmes
are driven not only by the future broad needs of the investment casting industry but, more
importantly, by the specific needs of its customers. Integrated
Manufacturing
RCL has established an extensive manufacturing facility in response to the ever
increasing demands of its customers. RCL has a large range of proprietary high pressure
injection moulding machines, kilns, dedicated core finishing equipment, and a wax
preparation facility to support the manufacture of cores for most aerospace, industrial
and commercial casting applications.
RCL's integrated manufacturing includes SPC of key processes, and cellular manufacturing
of post kiln activities for the rapid processing of families of cores; this reduces lead
times and operating costs and continually focuses on improving quality.
RCL provides its
customers with ceramic cores that are "ready to use" directly in the casting
