Materials & Applications

With over 35 years of manufacturing ceramic cores for the investment casting industry,
RCL has developed an extensive range of materials compatible with most casting processes
and a wide range of alloys. Materials are available for equiaxed, directionally
solidified, and single crystal casting processes.
RCL's materials are developed to give stability at high casting temperatures, no adverse
core to alloy reactions, and dimensional consistency. Some known benefits associated with
using RCL's materials include the elimination of both secondary recrystallisation and hot
tearing problems; this can have significant cost reduction implications considering the
high cost of directionally solidified and single crystal castings.
RCL's material technologists have a thorough and extensive understanding of the process
parameters required to get the best out of RCL's materials, and tailor them to both the
specific requirements of RCL's customers, and their individual casting processes.
